DEMO_MODE: false. Full steps are in README.md.
Right then. Let's make work slightly less absurd.
Everything you need to say the awkward thing well — feedback frameworks, a bookshelf people actually read, and the rest of the room who've also sat through a meeting that should've been an email.

About us
The Jam Jar is run by Simone Fenton-Jarvis and Louisa Clarke, co-founders of The Human-Centric Workplace. We started the Workplace Jam in August 2025 — a free Friday drop-in for humans to connect and give those sticky moments from the week some space. It became a podcast, and then this.
We built it because we believe work can and should be better, and because the people doing it deserve somewhere to say the hard bits out loud.
Jam
Threaded conversation, sorted by topic.
How do you actually get buy-in for a 4-day pilot?
We've got the data and the exec sponsor is nodding along, but middle management is quietly resisting. What's worked for anyone who's run this?
Expert advice
Put a real question to a real person.
My best performer just handed in her notice. Do I counter-offer?
Short version: rarely, and only if the money was the actual problem rather than the presenting one. Ask what changed before you ask what number fixes it — most counter-offers buy six months, not a resolution.
Worth a read
What's worth fifteen minutes this month.
Why "quiet cracking" is the successor to quiet quitting
A slow-burn disengagement pattern showing up in exit data more than resignation letters. Add real items in Supabase → research_items.
Worth a listen
Podcasts worth an hour of your commute. Got one for us? Say so in the Jam.

Plan B for FM
150+ women in FM have found their mentor here.
Plan A didn't work. It was littered with hurdles and the door remained firmly shut. Plan B works — connections, support, visibility, and the skills and confidence to back them up. In the best mentoring relationships, both people grow.
Mentee places are for those who identify as female. We'd love mentors from any background — if you've got experience in FM and time to give, we want you.

A weekly space to put the week down for a minute.
A drop-in space for humans to connect and give those sticky moments from the week some space. Bring your 'ugh', your 'argh', and your 'not sure what to do with this'. Let's reflect, reframe and reset, together, in a safe space.
