A community making work better — more human.

The room for leaders who are done pretending they've got it all figured out.

The podcast and the drop-ins are free. This is for the messier questions where you need a straight answer from someone who's actually dealt with it, and the research you keep bookmarking and never reopening.

Who's behind the jar

Simone and Louisa

At The Human-Centric Workplace, we've seen first-hand how work, leadership, culture, and the physical workplace ripple through every part of our lives — the good, the bad, and everything in between. We understand the difference it makes when work is truly human: when people feel happy, well, cared for, and connected to their purpose, their team, and their organisation. That's when they perform their best — and when your business thrives.

Simone and Louisa co-founded THCW because they share a vision: to create better workplaces for everyone. Together, they've combined their complementary skillsets and experiences, driven by the belief that work can and should be better.

The workplace jam was born in August 2025: a drop-in space for humans to connect and give those sticky moments from the week some space. Bring your 'ugh', your 'argh', and your 'not sure what to do with this'. We reflect, reframe and reset, together, in a safe space. Every Friday 12.30pm (GMT).

It soon evolved into a podcast and now this.

The Jam Jar is where that shows up for the people who want more than the free sessions — a space to keep building it together.

How do you actually get buy-in for a 4-day pilot?

We've got the data and the exec sponsor is nodding along, but middle management is quietly resisting. What's worked for anyone who's run this?

My best performer just handed in her notice. Do I counter-offer?

Short version: rarely, and only if the money was the actual problem rather than the presenting one. Ask what changed before you ask what number fixes it — most counter-offers buy six months, not a resolution.

Plan B for FM

Plan A didn't work. It was littered with hurdles and the door remained firmly shut. Plan B works — connections, support, visibility, and the skills and confidence to back them up. In the best mentoring relationships, both people grow.
